  • Valentine's Garland

    Designed By Christy Gallaher

Create a quick and easy Valentine’s Garland using our alphabet pegboard.  Looks fantastic over a window, mantel, or doorway!

Directions:

# Beads Needed:
Red - 98
White - 101

1. No pattern sheet needed! Use the alphabet pegboard to create the individual letters “HAPPY VALENTINES” for your project, alternating red and white beads. Create as many as you can at one time on the pegboard.

2. Ask an adult to fuse your letters. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have an open center. Let the design cool.

3. Remove the paper and beaded letters from the pegboard. Flip the letters over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat step two. Let cool completely. Once the letters are cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly.

4. Punch red and white hearts from the cardstock. Alternate colors, i.e. the red “H” will be with a white heart, white “A” will be with a red heart, etc. Hole-punch two holes in the top round portion of each heart.

5. Glue the Perler Bead letters to the hearts. Let dry.

6. Starting with the first letter, thread the ribbon through both holes in the heart, continuing with the remaining hearts in order until all are strung together. Space the hearts as desired, leaving 6-8" of ribbon on either side of the garland to use for hanging.
