  • Art Journal

    Designed By Catherine Matthews-Scanlon

Create a colorful art journal with a paint by number design as the cover! Ideal for holding your sketches, inspirations, and photos and notes of your projects. A great gift idea for a fellow artist or craft enthusiast.

1. Measure the inside of the sketch pad’s front cover and cut a piece of paper from the Citronella pad to be one inch larger on each side. Adhere to the inside cover, turning the excess to the front of the book and gluing in place. Do the same for the outside of the back cover, turning the excess to the inside of the back cover. Cut one more piece of paper slightly smaller than the cover and secure to the inside of the back cover for a nice finish.

2. Measure the front cover of the sketch pad and trim your painting as needed. Glue to the front cover.

3. Select chipboard letters for your desired title of the book. Paint the letters in a color that coordinates yet contrasts well with the painting. Adhere in place.

4. If your sketch pad has a spiral binding, you might want to tie on some scrap pieces of ribbon or a tassel. Consider gluing envelopes to the inside covers to hold photos or notes until they can be placed permanently in the album.
