1. Download and print out the Easter Egg Patterns.

2. Embroidered Egg: Cut out two egg shapes from the aqua felt. Cut out the band, the flower and flower center from the indicated colors of wool felt.

3. Referring to the pattern, add your stitches to the egg pieces using 6 ply of embroidery thread. The stitches used are as follows: French knots, back or straight stitch, stem stitch, and lazy daisies. Refer to the stitch directions under Tips & Techniques for more comprehensive instructions.

4. Make a piece of cording using three 36" lengths of 6 ply thread. Form a knot at the end of the cording and attach to the inside top of one of the egg shapes with one ply thread. Attach the front and back of egg together using one ply of coordinating thread placing a little stuffing between the two layers before closing.

5. Attach the flower center to the flower using a straight stitch. Stitch a zigzag on the teal band. Lay the band around the egg and attach the flower to the front of the band. Tack the band in place on the ornament with one ply matching thread.

6. Duck Egg: Cut out 2 egg-shaped pieces of aqua felt using the pattern for the felted egg. Cut out one white piece of felt using the border pattern. Cut out the duck shape including the beak from the butter felt.

7. Referring to the color pattern, needle felt the grass and purple flowers on the front of one of the aqua pieces. On the cut piece for the duck’s head, needle felt orange roving for the beak and add the eye with black. Attach the duck head along the edge of the egg using one ply of matching thread.

8. Attach the white border piece of felt to the front aqua piece using 6 ply purple embroidery thread and a back stitch to form a zig zag.
